"Sim" HawaiiGigabit: Help create Hawaii's Broadband future
If you got to be the master of the Hawaii Broadband Initiative (1 Gbps everywhere, affordable for all of Hawaii by 2018), how would you plan it? (for both/either broadband infrastructure deployment and adoption) What are the challenges? How you would address them? What would be the biggest bang for the buck (where would you direct the funding to make the most significant impact in the shortest time?)

Internet activism, democracy & law
From Arab Spring to Occupy Wall St (etal.), RIAA & MPAA vs. MegaUploads vs. Annonymous, Internet activism is connecting with people in an unprecedented way, breaking through barriers and sometimes breaking the law. The "flash-mob" is maturing to capture real mindshare of the grass-roots and instigate action that is both social and with a political purpose, grabbing headline and driving major shifts in politics and policy. If this is the beginning, what's next?

Social Media & Digital Strategy Panel Discussion for 2012: Beyond the "Experts"
LIke web design in 2000, everyone is a social media "expert" and these "experts" talk louder than the real people whoare busy making things happen. Creating openFrameworks projects in Hawai`i
Is anyone else using the openFrameworks development framework in Hawai`i?
"openFrameworks is an open source C++ toolkit for creative coding." (http://www.openframeworks.cc/) It's based on Processing and used for (frankly) awesome art and design projects.
I'd like to meet likeminded developers and designers, interested in using this toolset. Discussions could include, how to get started, how you're currently using it, what you'd ilke to do with it, deployment strategies, war stories, cool upcoming projects, other experiences, etc.
Please shout out to @mudphone on Twitter if you're into this.

Implications of Hypernet opportunities for HI Startups:
The Hypernet is new applications that fully utilize 4G+ wireless devices + HTML5 technologies. 10X the # of connected PCs connected 10X as fast = 100X as large an opportunity as internet 1.0 / .com era. And it's not owned by Google or Apple. hwww.zdnet.com/blog/btl/roger-mcnamee-how-the-hypernet-is-changing-the-internet/53578

Make your own TelePrompTer.
There are a number of videos on the web showing how to do this. I built one from City Mill and Ben Franklin materials for about $25. An iPad is needed (with free software) to provide the text. Very useful for video projects for school/work/personal use.
